Solitaire is conscious of environmental issues and it is our policy not to supply jewellery manufactured using endangered or protected species.
Research indicates that it is neither an endangered species or that the harvesting of it is regulated. We believe that much of this coral is naturally harvested from that washed up onto beaches around the islands of Indonesia. It is a fast growing soft sea fan and is not a scleractinian. (reef former).
The colour is naturally red or orange. The coral is polished and then coated with a clear resin to protect and preserve the attractive finish. When this process has been completed the coral is set into silver to make these beautiful and collectable pieces of jewellery.
